Bushmills was granted its licence to distil in 1608, making it the World's Oldest Licensed Distillery. In the 400 years since, we have continued to pursue perfection; the very reason we are still here today.
Positively shaping the future is paramount for us too, and our historic Old Bushmills Distillery sits proudly alongside the newly opened Causeway Distillery, showing that our future craft will always be defined by the timeless distilling techniques of the past. A triple-distilled spirit is the beating heart of our legendary Bushmills Smoothness.
A characterful whiskey, with a long-lingering, rich, easy-to-drink and unctuous mouthfeel. Whilst we are not the only distillery to do this, we truly believe we are the thought leaders, market leaders, and category leaders in Irish whiskey.
Bushmills’ Master Blender: Alex Thomas, takes responsibility to ensure quality control and also lead the charge in innovation, exploring new cask formulations and different woods. Colum Egan, Bushmills’ Master Distiller, ensures that the triple distillation process runs smoothly so that the quality of our whiskeys remain after 400 years.
Bushmills is not just a distillery: it is a village. The social and cultural terroir shapes and defines our whiskey, as much as the distillery itself. The water used to distil comes from the river Bush, located next to our small town. We are a local business with a global presence, and we are proud to carry the Bushmills name wherever we go.
